Greetings,

I’m Lily Carpenter.

I stand at the threshold where image and soul emerge together, where Tarot, Kabbalah, and the depths of the psyche weave themselves into symbolic form to bring meaning. My path into this work began in my early twenties, when a near-death experience opened me to the archetypal depths of the unconscious. That encounter left me with a lifelong sensitivity to the unseen and a calling to walk with others through transformation, healing, and the restoration of meaning.

My Path

I am a writer, Tarot reader, and Ph.D. candidate in Depth Psychology and Jungian Studies. My research explores archetypes, symbolism, and the imaginal structures of fairy tales, with a particular focus on how both the feminine and the modern masculine psyche fracture, evolve, and reassemble themselves in the process of individuation.

Along this path, I became a Jungian-certified hypnotherapist, spiritual counselor, and writer, weaving symbols and mythic depth into my writing and spiritual practice.

My work is shaped by C.G. Jung’s vision of the psyche as a living, symbolic totality; Marie-Louise von Franz’s deep work with fairy tales and archetypal patterns as pathways of individuation; James Hillman’s reimagining of psychology as soul-making; Marion Woodman’s insights into the embodied feminine; Helen Luke’s wisdom on the feminine journey of individuation; Robert Bly’s poetic approach to grief and masculinity; Henry Corbin’s explorations of the imaginal realm; and Clarissa Pinkola Estés’ mythopoetic storytelling.

Tarot & Intuitive Readings

I come to this work not only as a scholar but as a seer. I was born into a lineage of psychics and storytellers, a line of women who knew how to listen to dreams and symbols long before I could name them. Since the age of sixteen, I have been crossing that liminal space between worlds, bringing through images and insights to guide others.

For me, Tarot is more than a deck of cards. It is an imagistic language of the psyche, a mirror of soul and a map of possibility. Yet the cards are not the source of my sight; they are the doorway. My approach is intuitive: I cherish the ability to perceive patterns, symbols, and messages that lie just beyond ordinary awareness. The Tarot, runes, or other divinatory tools simply help to focus and translate what is already present in the unseen.

In an intuitive reading, we sit together at that threshold. I attune to your field and draw upon the archetypal language of Tarot as a guide. The cards, images, and impressions that arise offer clarity where logic falters, reveal patterns you may not yet have seen, and illuminate next steps on your path.

This work is an act of deep listening to your soul, to the collective field, and to the symbolic currents that shape your life. It is a way of weaving ancient intuitive practice with the imaginal power of story and symbol to help you find your way.

My Writing Journey

Writing is not only a craft, but an act of soul-making. My novels and teachings explore the psyche’s transformation through mythic realism, feminine longing, and the modern masculine journey. Writing becomes a vessel for symbolic literacy, a way of remembering the ancient bond between image, soul, and meaning. This work is imaginal, intuitive, and integrative, a sanctuary where the psyche speaks in symbols and the soul remembers its story.

“We sin against the imagination whenever we ask an image for its meaning, requiring that images be translated into concepts.” — James Hillman (as cited in Brown, Molly Young)
